University City is a community in San Diego, located in the northwestern portion of the city next to the University of California, San Diego. It is often referred to as "UTC", short for University Towne Center.

University City is less than five miles from the beautiful beaches of nearby La Jolla and just minutes from Torrey Pines State Park and the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Home to approximately 52,000 San Diego County residents varying from students, to young professionals and families, University City-San Diego maintains a small town feel, yet is located in the heart of a thriving metropolis. An established residential community of homes, University City has seen incredible mixed-use development including office buildings, hotels, shopping at the Westfield University Towne Centre, restaurants and more over the past 20 years. University City is close to Scripps Institute of Oceanography and is home to major hospitals, shopping malls, world-class restaurants and the Rose Canyon Natural Habitat Preserve.

The newly developed Nobel Athletic Area is a public facility which includes 30 acres of park space, a state-of-the-art recreation center, an off-leash dog park and a brand new public library. This area connects to the Sorrento Valley, home to most of the bio-science and pharmaceutical firms that have contributed to San Diego's flourishing economy. University City is known for its excellent real estate, schools and quality of life.
