Mission Hills and Hillcrest region of San Diego, California, are vibrant collection of historical neighborhoods bordered by two of San Diego’s major parks, Presidio and Balboa.

Hillcrest is known for its tolerance, diversity, and locally-owned businesses, including restaurants, cafés, bars, clubs, trendy thrift-stores, and other independent specialty stores. Hillcrest has a high population density, compared to many other neighborhoods in San Diego, and it has a large and active lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. Scripps Mercy Hospital and the UCSD Medical Center are located here.

Balboa Park is 1,100 acres in size and is situated just southeast of Mission Hills and Hillcrest. The park offers a variety of entertainment options for the surrounding neighborhoods, including the world-famous local zoo, two golf courses, and the Morley Field recreational area. Presidio Park is about 50 acres in size and features scenic walking trails and the Junipero Serra Museum.

Mission Hills has everything from moderate bungalow cottages to magnificent estates and one-of-a kind homes. Housing styles include Spanish Revival, Northern European Tudor, Italian Renaissance and Mission-style homes.
